The Budget and Accounts Committee at the People's Assembly on Wednesday discussed the investment budget of the Ministry of Finance, estimated at 1.879 billion Syrian Pounds.
The Committee said current tax legislations are outdated, inconsistent with the current situation and are unjust, calling for new legislation that suit the current situation.
They called for resolving issues regarding health insurance and to prevent corruption at the Syrian Insurance Company through facilitating procedures and rehabilitating the staff of the Finance Ministry and its branches.
Minister of Finance Ismael Ismael said that the Ministry has set the general budget for the state for 2014 to achieve safety and security in addition to providing citizens basic needs.
