Syria’s foreign minister will visit China this week, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei announced Tuesday.
Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem will visit China from December 23-26 and will meet his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, Lei said in a press briefing.
Earlier Monday, Lei said Beijing would soon invite representatives of the Syrian government and opposition to visit China with the aim of pushing forward the political process.
