The head of the Syrian Overseas National Coordination Commission, Haytham Manna, has repeated claims he has evidence proving the continuous contact between the U.S. administration and Islamist militants from the Ahrar al-Sham and Nusra Front groups.
In a statement to Russia Today, Manna said that the mediators between Syrian society and the White House are a group of foreign fighters and not those "serving the democratic transition in Syria."
Manna said the situation in Syria is complicated and said the lack of agreement between the U.S. administration and its local and regional alliances is adding to that complexity.
"The hesitant and sometimes childish act of the U.S. administration is being paid for by Syrian democratic people," Manna said.
The United States was the first to propose and work to pass a resolution at the U.N. Security Council to classify the Nusra Front as a terrorist organization.
