Iranian media outlets have reported the death of seven members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps of Pakistani descent in fighting inside Syria.

The seven Revolutionary Guards were killed in Syria after being sent to fight amongst the ranks of regime forces, the official Iranian news agency IRNA reported Monday. The agency added that the funeral ceremony for the soldiers will be held in the Iranian city of Qom, but did not announce the names of the fallen or the areas they were killed in.

Conservative Iranian website Mashreq News announced earlier that a 25-year-old helicopter pilot of the Revolutionary Guard, named Massoud Askari, was killed in the Syrian province of Aleppo on November 12.
