Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday that terrorists in Daraa province are in possession of chemical weapons which they are determined to use against residential areas. She said the militants intend to place blame for any attack on the Syrian army.
“There are currently several munitions filled with toxic agents at the Shabab al-Sunnah group’s warehouse located in the Bosra al-Sham town, Daraa province,” Zakharova said in a press conference in Moscow.
“According to our information, militants plan to use these weapons to attack one of the areas in the Daraa province, placing the blame on the government forces,” Zakharova added.
She pointed out that the six residential areas which are most likely to come under chemical attack are Hauran, Nawa, Inkhil, Jamila, Tafas and Daira.
