A memorandum has been issued by Coalition Secretary General, Nasr al-Hariri, saying the leadership receives $3,000, while his deputies and senior employess reseive $2,500.
The memo came in response to news circulated recently regarding high salaries allegedly paid out to leading members of the Syrian National Coalition. Activists have frequently criticised the high salaries paid to Coalition members.
Zaman al-Wasl reported last month that seven members received $100,000 each from Saudi Arabia during their visit.
The reported symbolic salary will not put an end to gossip and rumors surrounding the financial environment of the Western-backed Coalition, social media feeds said.
