A well-informed opposition source revealed the outgoing Prime Minster of the opposition Interim Government is massing support among his local backers within the opposition group to back him for another mandate.
Ahmed Toumeh is also said to be pressuring his rivals by monopolizing power and forming new political party and armed factions.
According to sources, a secret meeting was held recently in the southern Turkish city of Gaziantep by Toumeh's office manager, Aamer al-Aani and a number of Interim Government employees, mostly from the Deir El-Zor province in eastern Syria, Toumeh’s hometown, to drum up support for another mandate.
Toumeh is planning to stage his own 'bloodless coup', the source said.
The conferees agreed in principle to form a lobby which can control all government joint works, also agreeing to form a political party backed by an armed group inside Syria, where Toumeh can provide financial support through his international supporters. All these activities will help to endorse Toumeh when he stands to lead the next government.
