Possible Russian Airstrike Targets Main Market in Khan Sheikhoun

Warplanes thought to be Russian carried out a new massacre in the town of Khan Sheikhoun in the southern Idelb countryside on Monday afternoon.

According to activists, an airstrike hit the main market in the town’s center, killing and injuring a number of civilians.

Local activists circulated images of bodies which had been almost entirely blackened, while reports emerged that four people were killed, including a child.

The activists said the death toll is likely to rise as dozens of wounded had been transported to field hospitals and some of them were in critical condition.

Russian warplanes on Wednesday morning carried out air raids on the towns of Kafr Sijneh and Rakaya Sijneh in the province’s southern countryside, amid reports of injuries among civilians and heavy material damage.

Russian warplanes on Sunday struck the eastern district of Khan Sheikhoun with seismic rockets. No casualties were reported.
