On Sunday, the cabinet approved a number of decisions that will form the basis for balanced local development and create pioneering work in light of President Bashar al-Assad’s instructions to the heads of local councils on Feb. 17, 2019.
During a weekly session, chaired by Prime Minister Imad Khamis, the cabinet discussed the procedures that should be taken to boost the role of the administrative units, to help them carry out their new missions.
It also tackled the repercussions of the war imposed on Syria and means of dealing with them, in addition to relieving their direct and indirect impacts on the citizens.
Prime Minister Khamis called on the governmental team to assume their responsibilities and implement the instructions of President Assad in a way that best serves Syrian citizens.
