The head of the Rebuilding Committee said Thursday that the total value of the damages to Syrian infrastructure until the end of March had reached some SYP 1,158 billion.
Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Minister for Local Administration, Omar Ibrahim Ghalawanji, announced the figure during a meeting of the committee also attended by the Social Affairs Minister, the head of the Relief Committee and the Governor of Quneitra.
Members of the committee asked all ministries and public bodies to coordinate with the Interior Ministry to evaluate and document damages to public buildings
The members also considered projects of the Relief Committee, the Social Solidarity Fund, and a request made by the Aleppo province for SYP 200 million in relief items and SYP 100 million for basic services and necessities. It was decided that the Rebuilding Committee and the Minister of Awqaf would assess the first steps required for the establishment of the Social Solidarity Fund ahead of the next meeting.
The committee also agreed to provide an additional SYP 400 million to Aleppo along with SYP 200 million for foodstuffs.
