Syria's delegation to the U.N. Human Rights Council (UNHRC) expressed deep condemnation and regret for the "flagrant bias" with which its high commissioner, Navi Pillay, has conducted her work in Syria.
"My country's delegation inspected the commissioner's report and wants to express its deep denunciation and regret at the obvious bias which Pillay practices," Faisal al-Hamwi said.
He said Pillay "places blame on the Syrian government while closing her eyes to the widespread human rights violations committed by al-Qaeda, the Nusra Front and other extremists."
"Therefore, we and many delegations have reached the conviction that the commissioner and her office are determined to continue with this biased and unprofessional approach and that there is no hope they will alter this irresponsible behavior," Hamwi said.
