The Syrian National Coalition has launched an urgent appeal for relief to rescue over 1,000 injured civilians in Qusayr. The city of Qusayr has been under constant bombardment. A large number of civilians living in the area have been injured due to the assault launched over two weeks ago on the city by Assad forces and Hezbollah militia.
Qusayr is currently suffering from an acute shortage of doctors, paramedics and first aid kits. These shortages and the urgent need for relief efforts mean the international relief organizations must respond immediately to save wounded civilians. These civilians must be moved out of the city as soon as possible, to secure medical treatment in safe areas.
The Red Cross and Red Crescent, as independent and impartial organizations, have a moral and humanitarian obligation to take urgent action. They must enter the city, rescue the innocent civilians and provide them with the necessary protection.
We ask for mercy for our martyrs, health for our wounded, and freedom for our detainees.
Long live Syria and its people, free and with honor.
