A huge blast targeted a Syrian army checkpoint near Mezzeh military airport in Damascus late Sunday, but there was no immediate word on the number of casualties.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, "the violent explosion shook the Mazzeh neighborhood of Damascus.”
“It turned out to be the result of targeting one of the checkpoints of the regular forces near Mazze military airport with a car bomb,” the Observatory said in an email.
The Observatory added that according to preliminary information, there were casualties, without giving a number.
