Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi said on Thursday that the government seeks to establish new housing and construction areas with all services and diminish random and illegal housing areas.
Halqi was speaking during a special meeting to follow up on Decree No. 66 for 2012 on implementing real estate development units and alternative housing projects and assess the performance of the team in charge of these projects.
Halqi stressed that the development plans include the targeted areas in Damascus and all the other provinces as part of efforts to contract the illegal housing areas and implement plans to make available all appropriate technical, social and developmental elements.
Halqi directed all concerned parties to get the construction projects running on the ground within the scheduled timeframes.
