ISIS Commander Killed in Homs

A commander from the Islamic  State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS)  was killed on Tuesday in Homs, with both Assad forces and rebel fighters claiming responsibility for his death.

“During clashes which took place between two militant groups in Rastan, in Homs province, Abu al-Qaqa al-Tunisi was killed,” a military source told the Syrian state news agency, SANA.

Two other terrorists were also killed along with Al-Tunisi in the same clashes, SANA reported.

Activists said rebels killed al-Tunisi in the Zafaraneh district in eastern Rastan in response to ISIS assassination attempts on rebel leaders.

Meanwhile, several mortar shells fell on the besieged neighborhoods of Homs and there were violent clashes between regular forces and Islamic battalions in the perimeter of the Jouret al-Shiyah neighborhood, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

Activists reported that a child was killed and many others wounded in the Waer neighborhood.
