Turkey to Grant Syrians Work Permission

Exceptional residency visas will be replaced with one-year humanitarian visas
Turkey to Grant Syrians Work Permission

A new agreement has been signed between the European Union and Turkey to stop granting Syrians 'exceptional residency visas’, to be replaced with one-year humanitarian visas, with a working permit, a well-informed source from the Istanbul-based Immigration Omniyat Center told to Zaman al-Wasl.

The new agreement is due to  be implemented on 1 September, 2014 and would connect the information center in the United European Immigration Centre with the Turkish Immigration Center.

According to the Omniyat Center source, all Syrian cases will supply their finger-prints, which will then be handed to the United European Immigration Center. That connection between both Immigration centers will help identify illegal immigrants in Europe and if they have finger-prints in Turkey, they will be kept in Europe for up to three years. Turkey would then be requested to return them to Turkey.

The source explained that, according to the agreement, Turkish people would be able to travel to EU countries without a visa after three years.
