Prime Minister Wael al-Halki on Tuesday stressed the importance of cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities, the people and the state to build the homeland.
At a meeting with some members of the People’s Assembly representing the Idleb province, the premier reiterated the government’s desire for direct communication with civilians to conquer obstacles, improve the quality of services and enhancing participation in decision-making to meet their aspirations.
He pointed out that boosting security, stability and the national economy requires mobilization across all capabilities. He said the government has an interest in improving services and living conditions to people in the northern province to enhance social stability.
Halki noted the efforts exerted to upgrade the performance of the governmental administration in the province, by facilitating procedures, reducing bureaucracy, and confronting corrupt practices.
The MPs praised the government’s efforts to face an unjust war against Syria, within the framework of bolstering national economy and providing citizens’ basic needs and services.
The meeting also dealt with the importance of activating national reconciliation, the possibility of establishing a new university, resolving stalled loans for low-income earners through rescheduling, rehabilitating government institutions, and providing medical equipment to hospitals, in addition to paying more attention to the agricultural sector.
