Prime Minister Wael al-Halki said the accelerated pace at which local reconciliations have been achieved nationwide, particularly in Daraa, recently, will contribute to restoring security and stability.
Over 1,000 people wanted for involvement in the recent events in the country or who have not joined the military service in Daraa province have now had their legal status settled, after they pledged not to commit any act that might harm the security of the homeland or citizens.
Halki’s remarks came during a meeting with members of the People’s Assembly representing the southern province of Daraa, in which the premier said the reconciliations would help the residents of the Daraa continue agricultural, economic and daily life activities in an atmosphere of security.
Talks during the meeting dealt with ways of enhancing cooperation and coordination among the concerned bodies in Daraa to consolidate stability and to face the terrorist organizations operating there, in addition to settling the status of the detainees and the people kidnapped by terrorists.
