The Islamic Front, one of the major opposition factions in Syria, has decided not to fight the Islamic State (IS) in the north of Aleppo governorate, according to the al-Quds al-Arabi website.
The director of External Relations Office of the Front, Abu Mustafa, said that "IS has occupied the regions liberated by Syrian opposition. Thus, we launched an attack on IS positions on 25 August," the Anatolia News Agency reported on Sunday.
Abu Mustafa explained that the front has continued its fight with IS without direct clashes because of the intense attacks of both the international coalition and the Syrian regime. The coalition attacked Front locations simultaneously with the attacks of the regime and Hezbollah on the countryside of Aleppo, so the Front decided not to fight IS.
Abu Mustafa added that the fight with IS will continue until IS accepts a ceasefire agreement, and the Front will protect its locations and stay alert in the regions under its control.
