At least 11 Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) members were killed when a car bomb was detonated in the town of Tel Tamer in the north of Hassakeh province.
Activists in Hassakeh reported the blast targeted the YPG headquarters in the western entrance of the town, resulting in massive destruction of nearby shops.
The activists added that nine YPG members were wounded in the blast, adding that a number of them were taken to a military hospital in the south of the town in critical condition.
The Asayish forces – the security arm of the Democratic Union Party – responded by closing all roads leading into the town of Tel Tamer in anticipation of another attack.
