The “Damascus dollar” rose on Saturday morning by one Syrian pound from its closing price at the end of the week on Thursday. Opening Saturday in Damascus, the dollar reached 396 pounds buying and 399 pounds selling.

The euro also made new gains, up by two pounds from its closing last week, at 429 pounds buying and 434.5 pounds selling.

A number of Syrian provinces and regions also witnessed uneven gains in the price of the dollar. In Hama, central Syria, it rose two pounds from its close on Thursday, to reach 395 pounds buying, 397 pounds selling. In Idleb, northern Syria, the dollar reached 397.5 pounds buying, 398.5 pounds selling.

While in areas in rebel-held Aleppo: the dollar reached 396 pounds buying, 397 selling, in the district of al-Furqan, and in the eastern provinces of Aleppo the dollar remained stable at 399 pounds buying and 400 pounds selling. Opening in Daraa province, the dollar reached 394 pounds buying and 395 pounds selling.
