Syria’s cabinet has taken measures to amend the financial law of local administrative units, Prime Minister Wael al-Halki said during a session on Tuesday.
The law aims at uniting all financial rules related to unit revenue and support for units with new resources to improve their financial situation and empower them to provide better services.
Commenting on the economic situation, Halki highlighted the challenges facing the Syrian pound, stressing that the Monetary and Credit Council and the Central Bank of Syria are making efforts to try to stabilize the exchange rate.
The government will continue financing raw materials and energy needs, the PM affirmed.
He referred to the Razi urban project in Damascus, which President Bashar al-Assad laid the foundation stone of a few days ago, saying the project signals the start of the reconstruction process in Syria.
