Syrian opposition forces advanced in Aleppo's southern countryside after taking two new locations from Assad forces.
Abu Omar Al-Hamwi, a commander in the Ahrara Al-Sham Islamic Movement, said opposition forces took control of Khan Tuman and Eis hill.
Syrian activists also published videos showing opposition fighters entering the two areas after expelling the regime forces.
On Twitter, Hamwi tweeted that the opposition forces reacted to the regime's attempt to break the truce and move inside “important” areas. He also mentioned that many regime soldiers were injured in Zeitan and Al-Qalajiyah, adding that a number of military checkpoints were also taken.
According to Hamwi, Ahrar Al-Sham fighters are advancing toward Al-Azizieh, Tallet Al-Arbaeen and Makhala, at the same time that the Free Syrian Army and Al-Nusra Front fighters are advancing toward the Eis and Syriatel hills.
Hamwi also mentioned that many Hezbollah fighters were injured during the opposition’s attacks, while local sources confirmed the death of two Hezbollah militants in fighting in Aleppo’s southern countryside.
Meanwhile, regime forces and their Russian ally continue breaking the truce in Syria, forcing the opposition High Negotiations Committee in Geneva to appeal to the UN Security Council and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon explaining that "the truce is dying."
The Committee blamed the Assad regime and Russia for breaking the truce and for the recent massacre committed in Deir Al-Asafeer town in the Damascus countryside, where dozens of people were killed and injured.
