Syria’s Foreign Ministry said Tuesday’s bombing in Hassakeh city was conducted in order to prolong the crisis in Syria and aggravate the suffering of its citizens.
The ministry added that the attacks also aimed at raising the morale of the terrorist groups as they continue to lose ground to the Syrian army.
A suicide bomber blew himself up outside a bakery in the Salihiyeh neighborhood in Hassakeh city on Tuesday, killing 16 civilians and injuring over 27 others.
The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack, which coincided with the last day of the holy month of Ramadan.
