Syria has decided to close the Nassib border crossing as of April 2 until further notice, in response to unilateral measures taken by Jordan on Wednesday, a source at the Syrian Foreign Ministry told SANA.
Accordingly, the crossing is completely closed and any passage through will be considered illegal, the source added.
Jordanian authorities closed its side of the Nassib border crossing on Wednesday, while Syria holds the Jordanian government responsible for the border’s closure.
An official source at the Syrian Foreign Ministry said that Syria holds the Jordanian authorities responsible for obstructing the movement of trucks and passengers, and any ensuing economic or social repercussions.
