Provincial police chiefs were directed on Sunday to help ensure the parliamentary elections on Wednesday are conducted in accordance with the legal standards and without any problems that could affect stability.
Interior Minister Mohammad Ibrahim al-Shaar called for further work to boost security measures to ensure the safe access of voters to the polling stations, adding that the Interior Ministry has completed all requirements and procedures of the electoral process.
Minister Shaar asked police chiefs to set up joint operation rooms in all provinces that will offer around-the-clock direct security supervision and follow up on any possible complaints.
