President Bashar Assad said on Sunday Syria welcomes all constructive and sincere efforts to find a political solution to the crisis but is determined to confront and "totally uproot" terrorism in the country.
Meeting with a Mauritanian parties and unions delegation, Assad said Syria, with the unity of the army and the people, and with their faith in the homeland, is able to root out terrorism, in spite of all the suffering it is faced with.
The President highlighted the important role of pan-Arab parties and Arab unions in the region to boost the Arab people's awareness of conspiracies working to fragment the region through absurd conflicts, the primary beneficiary of which is the Zionist enemy.
