Minister of Heath Saad al-Nayef has emphasized the need to spread awareness and increase health measures among citizens for protection against chemical materials.
Nayef made the comments during a speech at a national health workshop organized by the ministry in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO).
The event is considered timely given armed terrorists groups have been using chemical materials in their attacks across the country.
Nayef said that these measures are a top priority for the ministry because of the chemical attacks which were launched by terrorists in many areas in the country, including the Eastern Ghouta province in Damascus countryside and Khan al-Assal in Aleppo.
Fred Jeff, lecturer and representative of the WHO said that the workshop aims at training the health cadres to deal with cases and teach citizens on the dangers of these materials and ways to protect and treat themselves.
