A senior rebel commander from the Islamic Army was killed when an explosive device detonated near his car in Dumeir city, 38 kilometers east of Damascus on Wednesday.
Ahmed Farhan al-Lahham was the first Syrian army defector in the desert city, which is situated on the fringe of eastern Ghouta.
