Regime forces on Sunday bombarded a kindergarten in the city of Harasta in the Damascus countryside, resulting in the death of children and a large number of critically wounded.

One of the kindergartens in a residential area in Harasta was hit by artillery fire from Fawj 41 which is controlled by regime forces. According to the preliminary toll four children were killed and another 30 were wounded.

Activists published the names of children: “Saydra al-Abbas, Kassem Bakira, Mahrous al-Dahdouh, and Jihad Qadadou.”

The city of Harasta is in the northern section of the eastern Ghouta, seven kilometers from the center of Damascus city. It has participated since the beginning of the protests against the Assad regime, which has forced 357,000 people to flee from the area because of continuous bombardment.

About 52,000 people live in the city, while no less than 50 percent of the infrastructure has been destroyed, according to the Harasta local council.

In a related context, the residential areas of the city of Douma were hit by heavy air bombardment on Saturday. The media activist Abou Abada told Alsouria Net that the number of killed so far had reached five civilians.

The city of Douma has been subjected to continuous bombardment by regime forces, which have imposed a siege upon it and other areas of the eastern Ghouta for about three years.
