The Syrian Coalition welcomes all international efforts calling for a political solution, which will achieve the aspirations and hopes of the Syrian people for a democratic state that begins with the removal of the Assad regime.
It is important to note that the Assad regime has thus far rejected all initiatives that have been beenpresented to resolve the crisis. During the past two years, the Assad regime has not only set obstacles in the way of reaching any international or Arab agreement, but also continued to massacre tens of thousands of innocent civilians, imprison over 200,000 people in Assad'snotorious torture chambers, and caused the exodus of over 5 million Syrians.
