Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister Ayman Sousan offered on Tuesday condolences on the death of His Holiness, former Pope Benedict XVI, at the Vatican Embassy in Damascus.

On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Sousan offered condolences for Pope Benedict XVI’s passing, praising the deceased’s virtues in upholding spiritual, moral and human values.

On December 31st, 2022, the Vatican announced the death of the former Pope Benedict XVI at the age of 95.
