The Sinopharm vaccine is safe and effective and was used in Syria, he affirmed.

Ghabbash added that currently 600.000 people in Syria have been vaccinated against coronavirus.

He went on to say that no case of deaths was recorded in Syria for people who received the vaccine, yet this does not negate the occurrence of some complications, such as other medicines and vaccines.

He thanked the Chinese government and people for sparing no effort in providing medical aid to Syria since the beginning of the pandemic.

For his part, Ambassador of China in Damascus Feng Biao said that the total number of doses provided to Syria amounted to 800,000 doses, in addition to the medical equipment and aid provided by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Syrian Ministry of Health.

He indicated that his country will donate one million vaccine doses to Syria.
