Chinese Delegation in the Regime-Controlled Areas of Idleb

The Idleb governor met with a Chinese company specialized in medical industries to discuss areas of bilateral cooperation, reports Syria TV.

The Governor of Idleb Muhammad Natouf — affiliated to the regime — received a Chinese delegation at the provincial headquarters in Khan Sheikhoun, south of Idleb.

The governor met with a representative of a Chinese company specialized in medical industries and discussed with him areas of bilateral cooperation.

The governor thanked the company’s initiative that provided the coronavirus epidemic detection devices and medical supplies to the school dispensary in a number of schools in Idleb countryside.

A local source in Khan Shaykhun confirmed to Syria TV that the representative of the Chinese company is one of the members of the Chinese delegation that visited the region and toured a number of villages near the lines of contact with the Syrian opposition northwest of Khan Shaykhun.

The delegation included, according to the source, “Chinese military, security, and commercial figures, who were accompanied on the tour by leaders of the regime’s army, Russian militias, and officials in the provincial council and the Baath Party.”

This is the first time that the Chinese appear in the regime-controlled areas of Idleb.

The visit could be included in the framework of supporting the efforts of the Bashar al-Assad regime and Russia to establish the control of the regime forces over the region and to promote the allegations of rehabilitating the areas that were controlled by the regime forces and militias in Idleb countryside during the military operations between May 2019 and February 2020.
