Jewish Rabbi, Edi Abbadi, head of the Association of Gulf Jewish Communities, said that the normalization of Syria with Israel is a matter of time.
In an interview on the “Qasara Al-Qawl” program on Russia Today Arabic, Abbadi said that “Syria’s signing of normalization and peace agreements with Israel is a matter of time only,” adding that “secret and personal talks have been taking place for years between the government of the Syrian regime and Israel regarding a peace agreement between the two sides.”
Abadi said that he had received an invitation from the head of the regime, Bashar al-Assad, to visit Aleppo and Damascus, where there is Jewish presence as well as their cemeteries and temples in Syria.
He added that the invite is 11 months old but the outbreak of war prevented it from happening.
Abbadi added that previous talks took place between him and the regime’s ambassador to the United States, where the ambassador expressed Assad’s readiness to invite the rabbi to visit Syria.
