Twenty Women Released a Month After Their Arrest

The released women has been arrested for trying to reach their husbands in Idleb, and reportedly secured their freedom after paying a fine reports Sowt Al-Asima.

The Air Force Intelligence Directorate at the al-Mezzeh military airbase prison has released 20 women along with their children, more than a month after they were arrested at Qamishli airport in northeastern Syria.

Sources told Sowt al-Asima that they had been arrested after they flew from Damascus International Airport to Qamishli airport, with the aim of going to Idleb via smuggling routes to meet their spouses who had were expelled from eastern Ghouta a year and a half ago.

The regime Air Force Intelligence, which controls Qamishli airport, transferred the detainees and their children to the al-Mezzeh airbase prison for investigation.

According to the sources, they were released after their families paid money. Their passports were confiscated and they were banned from leaving the country.

The regime intelligence has arrested dozens of women trying to reach northern Syria in recent years.
