Educational Development Conference Starts Activities

The government is organising a broad conference on the education sector and its role "in building the homeland," according to state news agency SANA

Under the patronage of President Bashar al-Assad, the Educational Development Conference, which is organized by the Ministry of Education in cooperation with the Higher Education Ministry, kicked off on Thursday at the Conferences Palace in Damascus.

The Conference held under the slogan “A Future Educational Vision on Enhancing the Building of Human and Homeland” will last until the 28th of this month.

Participants in the conference will discuss the future national strategy of education in Syria and institutionalizing the alternative education, the integration of education and higher education systems, in addition to developing the educational curricula and its components and their role in building the homeland.

Developing the vocational and technical education and many other issues related to the educational process in the country will also be tackled during the conference.

Several workshops on vocational education, the curricula and their components in a changeable world, the integration of the educational institutions at the pre-university and university stages, and the educational integration of the disabled, kindergartens and the private education will be held on the sidelines of the conference.

Arab and foreign intellectuals and experts from the Education and Higher Education Ministries, academic and research centers and the national civil society bodies in Syria and representatives of the international organizations concerned will take part in the conference.
