Syria Strongly Condemns New US Sanctions Against Iran

The most recent sanctions imposed by the United States have targeted the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei reports The Syria Times.

Syria has strongly condemned the US administration’s decision to impose sanctions on the symbols of the leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stressing that the decision was part of the US administration’s reckless and arrogant policy towards states that are proud of their sovereignty and national dignity and reject the mentality of hegemony and subordination, an official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has stressed.

In a statement to the Syrian news Agency SANA on Tuesday, the source said that such US policies are responsible for fuelling tensions in the region and across the world and they pose a serious threat to international peace and security.

The Syrian Arab Republic reiterates its full solidarity with the leadership and people of Iran in the face of the US arrogance and it stresses that the new American move is of no value and it won’t weaken the Iranian people’s will and determination to preserve the sovereignty and independence of their country, the source concluded.

On Monday, US President Donald Trump announced new sanctions against Iran, which targets the office of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Iran’s foreign minister and senior commanders of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, according to Press TV.
