Within the framework of the political program to solve the crisis in Syria and as a result of the good circumstances provided by the government to create a suitable atmosphere for national dialogue through the meetings of the ministerial committee with various spectrums of the Syrian society and the security and legal guarantees it offered to those who wish to surrender their weapons, the Ministerial Committee tasked with following up on the implementation of the political program to solve the crisis in Syria met a number of Wadi Barada locals who favored dialogue and surrendered their weapons.
Prime Minister, Dr. Wael al-Halqi, expressed happiness for this meeting with those people who underwent the experience of taking up arms and who suffered its repercussions to become convinced that amity and tolerance are the only hope for the Syrian people.
The Prime Minister pointed out to the plans and programs set by the government to support agriculture in Damascus countryside, activate tourism and create job opportunities, in addition to restoring security and stability to all Syrian provinces.
In turn, Wadi Barada locals expressed gratitude to the government over this sincere invitation to dialogue through the administrative and judicial procedures the government has made to enhance credibility.
In statements to journalists after the meeting, participants in the meeting stressed that the meeting discussed a solution to the crisis in Syria, pointing out that there are several efforts exerted to save the homeland.
They also said that the meeting touched upon means of solving problems and restoring clam and stability to the homeland, calling on all those who took up arms to surrender their weapons.
