A source in the presidential office, who is cooperating with the opposition, has revealed that France and the Syrian government are communicating and exchanging messages.
The communication channel was opened through intelligence agencies, the source said, with the Syrian intelligence agency revealing its willingness to cooperate with French intelligence on files concerning French jihadists operating in Syria.
Coordination was channeled through some Syrian and Lebanese businessmen supporting the regime and living in France. Those businessmen organized meetings between the two parties, and the source, said, adding that it was expected that there would be a change in the French attitude that may even lead to the reopening of its embassy in Damascus soon.
