Officers and members of region's military security branch were moved to the university campus in Mazzeh, vacating most of the students living there.
The first campus bloc has been allocated to officers' housing, while the sports club has been converted in to an operations room and detention center for the most dangerous detainees, deemed a threat to state security.
The Palestinian branch of military security was also recently moved to the Obstetrics Hospital.
According to a source, the hospital is now occupied by nearly 400 members of the Palestine branch, along with military intelligence from Section 215, who have stationed guards on the entrances.
The movement of Assad's forces to schools, mosques, hospitals, universities was also accompanied by an alert issued to technicians and engineers at the al-Nasr Private communications exchange to transfer phone and internet lines to the new security headquarters.
The source noted that the hospital also houses the shrine of Sheikh Ibn Taymiyyah, one of the most important symbols in Sunni Islam, near the main entrance.
