President Bashar al-Assad stressed that what has been happening in the region, particularly in Syria, targets its sovereignty and independent decision-making.
President Assad was speaking during his meeting on Monday with the Women's International Democratic Federation (WIDF) delegation currently visiting Syria, headed by Marcia Campos. The talks dealt with the ongoing events in Syria and President Assad affirmed that, ''nonetheless, the Syrian people and the peoples of the region can get past this difficult stage as long as they have the will and determination to defend their lands and interests and restore security and stability.”
The delegation members expressed the Federation's solidarity with the Syrian people in confronting the terrorist campaign and rejecting interference in Syrian domestic affairs.
