Assad Campaigns for Re-election

Teachers and staff forces to sign petitions in support of Assad

The regime of Bashar Assad is forcefully obtaining signatures from employees through unions affiliated to his Baath Party to re-elect the criminal as President.

This is a preliminary step to rig the next election. The process started in the occupied cities and we have observed several cases at government departments and schools of Latakia, where the managers and headmaster instruct staff and teachers to sign a petition of support for the President.

Our sources obtained one of these papers, which were delivered to teachers via the Latakia Branch of the Teachers' Union and distributed to the schools across the city.

There is no doubt this regime, known for decades for lying and prevarication, will move to other ways to force non-employees to sign the petition in the next phase of this campaign.
