A media source in Raqqa reported that Muawiyeh battalion, affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) tried to attack the local council in the city, but were confronted by the Nusra Front.
The source said that Nusra now protects the institutions in Raqqa from the assault of any party.
Nusra also asked the Shariah Commission in the city and the fighting battalions to intervene for the release its leader Abu Asaad al-Hadrami who was kidnapped by ISIS.
