The Nusra Front has announced the death of their emir's assistant in the Qalamoun region, north of the capital Damascus, Abu Azzam al-Kuwaiti.
Kuwaiti supervised the recent exchnage operation for nuns from Maaloula. Nusra published a statement on Twitter saying that Kuwaiti was killed in clashes with the Syrian army in the outskirts of Yabroud in the Qalamoun region.
