The community in the Latakia province escorted Hilal Assad, Commander of the National Defense Forces in Latakia from the Military Hospital of Zahi Azraq to his final resting place on Monday, surrounded by mourners.
Funeral prayers were performed by Chairman of the Great Prophet Complex in Latakia, Sheikh Aiman Zaitoun.
MP Ammar Assad noted that the martyr Hilal Assad was the embodiment of every honest citizen in the homeland. He said that Assad proved that a man is made through his actions, not words, as he accompanied the National Defense Forces on the battle ground in Kasab to support the Syrian Arab Army.
Hilal Anwar Assad was born in 1967. He was married and had five children. He holds a Master's degree in economics and planning.
