The ambassador of the Syrian regime in Moscow, Riad Haddad, has denied rumors that circulating in the media on Wednesday of the death of the Syrian Foreign Minister, Walid Moallem.
Haddad said "the information is baseless and the Minister Walid Moallem is in a good health," according to the Elaf website.
News circulated confirming the death of Moallem at the American University Hospital in Beirut, where he has been treated.
Media reports from the Syrian actor Duraid Laham on Tuesday, via his Facebook page, said that Moallem "is in a critical condition from the disease and has been entered the recovery room."
Laham asked his fans to pray for the health and healing of Moallem.
Al-Watan newspaper denied the news via its own account on Twitter, confirming that Moallem "is fine and in a good health and he resumed his work in the ministry a few days ago."
According to Elaf, news confirming the death of Moallem in the American Hospital in Beirut has spread, while pages loyal to the Syrian regime mentioned that some internal arrangements postponed the official announcement of his death.
