Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Faisal Mikdad said that Syria, under the leadership of President Bashar Assad, has become a global and pan-Arab symbol for counterterrorism, particularly that of the Zionist and western-backed terrorism.
In an article published on Saturday in the Lebanese al-Binaa newspaper, Mikdad said that Syria assumes its responsibility as a guarantor for Arab dignity, honor and values and will not yield to the dictations of others.
“Syria has been able to remain strong and resistant due to the wise leadership of President Assad and despite all challenges and pressures it has faced during the past three years, led by the U.S., Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Europe and their tools at the U.N. and the so-called the Arab League,” he said.
The Deputy Foreign Minister asserted that President Assad had saved Syria from the rapacity of its enemies.
Mikdad reiterated what Assad had said in his speech, following his swearing in, that he will tackle strategic issues and deal with full responsibility and in detail, the issues to find a way to solve all the problems facing Syria, the region and the world.
