An official source at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry expressed relief over the release of the Algerian diplomats who had been abducted by armed takfiri terrorist groups in Mali.
In a statement to SANA on Wednesday, the source said that Syria offers its sincerest condolences to the Algerian government and the families of the Algerians killed while detained in Mali.
The source said that Syria salutes Algeria's government for refusing to acquiesce to terrorist groups' "blackmail" in Mali, and its commitment to combating terrorism. The source said Syria reiterates its support for the people and government of Algeria in the face of extremism and terrorism which pose a threat to the stability and security of Algeria, Syria, and all countries in the region and the world.
