Tartous to License 250 New Private Schools

Private education is complementary to public education, Director of the Education Directorate in Tartous, Abdul Karim Harba, has said.

“We give the utmost importance to the private kindergartens, where the private education department monitors the activity of private schools, and directly supervises the implementation of the adopted curriculum.”

The Directorate regularly checks schools to supervize the educational and learning process in this sector.
The number of children in private sector kindergartens is around 17,650 children, while the number of private educational institutions amounted to 266 institutions; including 202 kindergartens, 57 educational institutions and seven vocational centers.

There are currently 250 applications for licensing new private educational institutions, including 52 institutions and 200 kindergartens that will work beside many public kindergartens, operating under the supervision of Education Directorate, Teachers Union and Women's Union.
